We are a faith based non denominational spiritual treatment program who welcomes all addicts. We have a track for those recovering Jews who desire spirituality from within their own heritage. We treat the underlying cause of addictive behaviors, the existential emptiness or void and the self will which also fuels relationship dependency, some eating disorders, and compulsive gambling. Our path is one of total personality change to maintain permanent recovery of the soul, mind and body, not mere prevention of relapse. Our Rabbi has practiced as a therapist, chaplain, and spiritual counselor treating dual diagnosis and co-occurring disorders and has been intervening through Judaic pastoral counseling and 12 steps spirituality with addicts for over twenty-five years. Lack of power is the problem and if there is a history of chronic relapse our program will provide the solution.
It is often stated that the Jewish community is in denial that there exists a drug problem or alcoholism. Yet drug and alcohol treatment centers and chemical dependency programs are flowing with Jewish persons and Jews are in many self help fellowships. The denial centers in that we don’t fully realize that there is a Jewish solution for the addiction problem. The spirituality within the Jewish faith is divine, from God Himself, and the Torah was given at Mt. Sinai by the Creator Himself for our healthy living and pleasure. We should recognize that Christian programs flourish everywhere claiming salvation from drugs through their religion while eastern practices such as yoga and Zen Buddhism are common. Thus our Jewish track focuses on the mysticism and spirituality from within the Kabala from the Torah.
Most addiction treatment programs know the addict needs to find spirituality. The prophets have stated we must be a light unto the nations and share our rich knowledge base with those seeking from other nations who are sincerely interested in understanding their purpose in this world according to the Torah. Thus our general track utilizes Torah principles for Christians, or nonaffiliated person who would like to understand bible teachings from the original source. Visit www.jewishdrugtreatment.com.
